The 50th anniversary Jaguar D-Type 1956 limited edition fountain pen
Translating the sensual, curvaceous lines and intricate design features of the D-Type car into a writing instrument, proved to be a thrilling challenge for Jaguar’s advanced design team and their partners Aquila Brands, Italian specialists in pen design and manufacturing.

The greatest challenge we faced in creating the Jaguar D-Type 1956 fountain pen, was how to transport the overall forms and curvaceousness of the car into the language of a pen, that could be comfortably held and used. The process moved from preliminary sketches to an in-depth tour of the Jaguar museum and lengthy discussions between writing instrument and car design teams.
In creating a writing instrument that truly reflects the concept of the Jaguar D-Type car in its finest details, we have come up with a gorgeous pen that is also reassuring to hold and beautiful to touch.

The Jaguar D-Type 1956’s unique filling mechanism has a tank which holds a generous amount of ink - 0.9ml. The D-Type comes with the option of a broad and medium nib. A broad nib writes approximately 370 metres per fill and a medium nib 486 metres.
